Movie review: Iron Man
Journal Entry: Mon May 5, 2008, 10:14 PM
Of all the various marvel movies that have been released, I must say that this one is my favorite. And the Where's Waldo twist of "Find Stan Lee's Appearance in the movie" has gotta be the best one yet as well.
Robert Downing was a perfect choice for Iron Man, and though I expected "I am Iron Man" from Ozzy/Black Sabboth to come out a lot earlier than it did, it still nonetheless made an appearance.
Now for all concerned: THERE IS EXTRA FOOTAGE AFTER ALL THE CREDITS! DON'T MISS IT! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD DON'T MISS IT!
Being a geek myself, I feel they made a good modern transformation of the story line. Still get's a heart wound, and instead of vietnam he goes instead to Afganistan, computer graphics were awesome, acting was great, and the subtle humor of Tony Stark is quite phenominal.
And by the way... Burger King must've spent a mint for their spot. I'm surprised Mountain Dew didn't get in on that.
BTW... that's a 1000 dollar tip he sticks in the tip jar at the party.
I rate this movie a 5 out of 5

"I reject your reality and substitute my own!"
Also, I love how Stark always gets his way. It makes the movie so awesome. His "life's just a big game" attitude really adds to his personality!
" Spoilers Below"
Samuel L. Jackson is perfect for the part of Nick Fury. What's coming is going to be awesome. I can't wait.

It doesn't matter if everyone in the world hates your work. As long as you love what you create and love to create it, it is good art.
three things I feel should be improved:
1) Tony stark should build more than one power core, in that way it will be not fatal for him. (in case someone steal his power core)
2) The new suit should have some emergency backup power that can last for a coupel of hours.
3) Why did they don't use tanks against the Iron monger?

Reporter: You've been called the Da Vinci of our time. What do you say to that?
Stark: Absolutely untrue. I don't paint.
Reporter: What about your other nickname, the Merchant of Death?
Stark: That's not bad.

Fear of death is a pretense of wisdom.
Personally liked everything outside two nitpicks: didn't like Terrance Howard as Rhodey and the bit about the hostage video being directly connected to Stane was absurb...but the rest was a gold..er, Iron mine!

2> Yes it should, and I think that that is a later adaptation.
3> Not really easy to roll a tank down a city street like that, but yes it would be cool to have tanks hit him like that. Though, that one tank catching ironman while in flight? Kinda hard to believe...
Something I did notice though. Anyone else note that the way the armor is applied is similar to the Marine armor being applied in the Starcraft2 trailer?
